Delta County Economic Development, (DCED) is looking for dynamic and professional Executive Assistant to join it’s team.

Formed in 1996 as a private, non-profit economic development organization, DCED organizes and collaborates with area leadership in an effort to build infrastructure, enhance quality of life and create a vibrant County for its residents and visitors.

As the Executive Assistant you will provide high level administrative support in all areas. You will work closely with the Executive Director, staff, investors, and anyone having business with DCED. This opportunity is for a highly self- motivated energetic professional, who wants be a part of growing Delta County’s economy.

Hours: Flexible and negotiable (minimum 30 hours/week)

Salary: $16.00 to 19.00

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following)


  • Prepare organization’s Annual Report
  • Maintain Investors and Board of Directors contact information
  • Assist with organization and planning of Annual Board meeting and Board elections
  • Send out monthly Board meeting material
  • Organize all meeting details, including food, beverages, hand-outs, etc.
  • Attend Board meetings and take minutes
  • Serve on project committees as assigned
  • Perform data entry, maintain and update files, records and data bases
  • Process Enterprise Zone certificates
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding prospects and members
  • Provide information and promote the organization to local investors and potential clients
  • Manage office equipment, hardware/software, order supplies and attend to various IT issues
  • Coordinate and maintain Executive Director’s calendar and travel arrangements
  • Responsible for conference room scheduling
  • Process mail and maintain postage
  • Maintain electronic and hard copy of files, execute weekly system backups.
  • Maintain a professional and clean office environment
  • Manage front desk operations including answering incoming phone calls, and greeting guests
  • Research and create reports/documents related to prospects and/or members


  • Reconcile bank statements
  • Prepare balance sheet, income statements on monthly basis
  • Track and process Investment Invoices (accounts receivable)
  • Prepare and make bank deposits
  • Track and process accounts payable
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly payroll liabilities
  • Process payroll
  • Insure all routine IRS documents are filed timely
  • Maintain investor information and vendor records in QuickBooks
  • Process reimbursements, travel and mileage records

Communication & Marketing:

  • Develop and execute innovative digital marketing strategies to improve awareness and engagement
  • Develop and administer social media sites (i.e., Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, blogs, etc.)
  • Use analytics tools to effectively monitor, track and report media results
  • Update and maintain website
  • Build and maintain relationship with stakeholders, and/or public and private partners
  • Identify potential community stakeholders and project funders
  • Keep all research data and demographic information current
  • Update Investor Directory as needed
  • Add news and events information as they occur
  • Maintain all external web links and email links
  • Attend marketing & promotional events
  • Manage relations with media


  • Excellent verbal and written skills

  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with members, Board of Directors, prospects, and the public.
  • Working knowledge of computer hardware and software including: Windows XP, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Acrobat, Outlook, QuickBooks Pro, Google Admin and Analytics, Internet Explorer.
  • MS Publisher, Adobe Illustrator, or other graphic design software, online social media platforms, and website development and/or management/maintenance of website are pluses.


High school graduation or GED equivalent, plus five years of experience in a similar role. Or a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college plus a minimum of two years progressively responsible experience working with the public/non-profit entities and working in a professional office environment is preferred.

CERTIFICATE, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid Colorado driver’s license and current valid personal vehicle insurance.

Occasional after hours and weekend duties may be required. Driving personal vehicles, with mileage reimbursements, maybe required. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties, the employee may be required to sit, type, or reach for extended periods. Some climbing to reach office supplies and files may be required. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, crouch, reach, and grasp. Manual dexterity to operate a personal computer and other office equipment, as well as visual and hearing acuity sufficient to assist staff are also required. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
