The master plan update process will include several steps, which are scheduled to take place during the spring, summer, and fall of 2017. These steps include:
- Development of County Vision and Goals
- Development of a DRAFT Future Land Use Plan and Maps
- Public and Planning Commission review of the DRAFT Master Plan
- Adoption of the Master Plan
There will be numerous opportunities for public input throughout the process including community meetings, property owner drop-in sessions, web survey, and numerous public meetings with the Planning Commission and Board of County Commissioners. The County will also be working to meet with organizations and partner agencies throughout the County. Written comments throughout the process are welcomed and encouraged.
The first public meetings are listed below. Following the first round of public meetings, a DRAFT Master Plan will be developed. The DRAFT Master Plan will include an updated vision and set of goals, along with a future land use plan. The DRAFT Master Plan will be released to the public for review and comment, including the ability to submit comments online.
Throughout the drafting of the Master Plan, work sessions with the Planning Commission and Area Planning Commission will be ongoing. A second round of formal public meetings and work sessions with the Planning Commission and Area Planning Commissions will be scheduled in the fall of 2017, followed by a public hearing with the Planning Commission. It is anticipated that a final draft of the Master Plan will be prepared for adoption by the Delta County Planning Commission by end of 2017.
